Dr. Wafa has worked over 10 years in world-renowned university hospitals in Germany and Switzerland such as the University Hospital of Heidelberg, the University Hospital of Karlsruhe, and the MIOS Clinic (Microinvasive Ocular Surgery, Retina and Inflammation) in Lausanne, Switzerland. She also served as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the American Hospital in Dubai. Additionally, she is a Clinical Professor at the University of Sharjah.
Dr. Wafa holds multiple qualifications and certifications from esteemed institutions; she completed her studies of Medicine at the prestigious Medical Faculty at Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg in Germany, and further specialised in Ophthalmology at same institution. She also holds a Ph.D. in Ophthalmology from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany. She is a German Board-Certified Ophthalmologist from the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg, and a Swiss Board-Certified Ophthalmologist from the Swiss Federal Council of Bern, Switzerland. Furthermore, she is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology since 2017.
She specialises in general ophthalmology, medical retina, ocular inflammation, and uveitis, particularly in diagnosing and treating both anterior and posterior segment disorders, offering laser treatment for retinal diseases and glaucoma, handling minor eyelid surgeries, and managing uveitis and other retinal disorders.
